Your guide to applying for a Police Clearance Certificate

1. At the Police Station:
Go to the police station and ask to be directed to the official responsible for fingerprints. (ID & R190 payment)
- At the police station: Bring a clear photocopy of your ID (both sides on one page) or your green Id Book or Valid Passport.
- Pay the R190 SAPS processing fee. payment of R190 payment to SAPS.

2. Taking fingerprints at police station:
Complete the SAPS 91(a) form: The officer will provide the official ink fingerprint form, known as SAPS 91(a). Fill in your personal details, including your full name, surname, date of birth, place of birth, and ID or passport number.
Ink fingerprint capture: A trained police official will manually roll each of your fingers and thumbs in black fingerprint ink and press them onto the designated blocks on the physical form. Digital or electronic scans are not accepted.

3. Police handed your docs back to you:

The police will give you four documents:
ID copy, original fingerprints, SAPS application form, and proof of payment.
